Born and bred in the ends of West Gorton, Manchester, Lamia graduated from Goldsmiths University London with a degree in English Literature.

Now a freelance creative writer, her work has been featured in the likes of Azeema, WAVE Mag, and THE FACE, and she can often be seen talking about issues involving underrepresented, mixed heritage women.
